How Watch with a friend works
Last updated: 10 July 2026
Pick a friend. Get three choices that suit you both.
StreamRanker finds the overlap between your rankings. You can stop comparing long lists and start watching.
Choose who is watching
- Open Friends and choose a name.
- You can add more people after the first match.
- One match can include you and up to 9 friends.
- Shuffle whenever you want three different choices.
How shared picks are chosen
- StreamRanker starts with strong options from each person’s ranking.
- Anything already seen or hidden by someone is left out.
- A title on someone’s watchlist gets extra weight.
- The best shared options become your three picks.
Make the match narrower or broader
- Keep Use my filters on for your current genre, language, type and time choices.
- Turn it off to look across anything available on the starter’s region and services.
- If your friends use different services or live elsewhere, check availability before pressing play.
What friends can see
- Friends see your display name and the picks you share.
- They do not see your lists, reactions, services or other private choices.
Invites, friends and limits
- Each personal invite works for one person and expires after 7 days.
- You can create 20 invites in any 24-hour period.
- Unanswered invites do not stop you from creating new ones.
- Each account can have up to 10 connected friends.
- Removing a friend disconnects both people.
